Our Veterinarians

Dr. Tawna

Dr. Tawna Snyder, DVM

Dr. Tawna knew veterinary medicine was her calling from a young age, growing up on a dairy farm outside of Forest, Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine.

She enjoys dentistry, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and helping clients achieve their pet’s reproductive goals. Outside the clinic, Dr. Tawna enjoys riding her horse, fishing, hunting (especially with her English Setter, Rainy), cross-country skiing, and backcountry camping.

Practice Manager

Melissa
Melissa
Melissa has been in management for over 11 years and joined the veterinary field as a practice manager two years ago. Melissa earned her associate degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College and is completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls.

She has always had a passion for animals and leadership. Growing up, she was known for bringing home every stray she could find. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, camping, traveling, and spending time with her kids and family. She has two dogs, Hemi and Nova, and a cat named Brie. Fun fact: Melissa makes an unbeatable lasagna!

Technicians

Mindy, CVT, CCRP

Mindy lives near Glenwood City with her husband and two boys. She has two dogs, Brody and Montee, and a cat named Spitzybella. She graduated from Argosy University in 2004 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Mindy began working at Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic in September 2014.

In 2018, she completed the canine rehabilitation program through the University of Tennessee and became certified in canine rehabilitation. In 2023, she became a Certified Canine Arthritis Practitioner to further support her patients’ comfort and mobility. Mindy is passionate about providing pain relief and helping pets reach their full potential so they can live their best lives. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, swimming, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Heather, CVT

Heather is a Certified Veterinary Technician with over 11 years of experience in the veterinary field. She graduated from Globe University and has a strong passion for client education, helping pet parents better understand how to care for their animals.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys riding horses, raising mini cows, and competing in dog sports. She shares her home with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 4 horses, 7 cows, 2 sheep, and 1 goat. Fun fact: Heather is competitive by nature and loves a good challenge, especially when it comes to solving problems.

Technicians Assistants

Makenna

Makenna has been a Technician Assistant for five years and graduated from UW–Stout. She loves supporting both pets and their owners, especially during stressful moments, and finds it incredibly rewarding to make a difference for families and their furry companions.

She’s an indoor plant enthusiast, loves getting crafty, and enjoys outdoor adventures, especially when her dogs can tag along. Makenna has over two dozen animals, including cats, dogs, and chickens. Fun fact: She loves tackling home improvement projects.

Alicia

Alicia has been a Veterinary Technician for three years and graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She loves that every day in veterinary medicine brings new learning opportunities and unique cases.

In her free time, Alicia enjoys video games, Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer 40K, Dungeons & Dragons, and hiking. She has 3 pets and is also an amateur rockhounder.

Rylynn
Rylynn attended Minnesota North College–Vermilion Campus in Ely, MN. She loves seeing sick or injured animals recover and thrive after treatment.

Outside of work, Rylynn enjoys hunting and hiking. She has 4 pets—2 cats and 2 dogs, and lives on a farm with over 2,000 goats!

Tanya, Lead CSR
Tanya has been our Lead Client Service Representative for over three years. She loves connecting with both clients and patients, whether it’s helping a pet feel better or showering them with attention when they’re feeling great.

She enjoys fishing, camping, spending time outdoors, and riding her horses. Tanya shares her home with 4 dogs, 1 cat, 3 horses, and more chickens than she can count. She’s dedicated to working hard and playing even harder.

Alyssa
Alyssa joined our team 8 months ago and brings warmth and creativity to the front desk. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and her master’s degree from the University of Maryland.

She has a special place in her heart for senior dogs and their sweet “powder sugar” faces. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys painting, crocheting, sculpting, and doodling. She has 3 pets and previously worked with monkeys, a fun and unique experience!

Kennel Assistants

Kayleen

Kayleen has worked in the kennel for four years and was homeschooled. She especially loves it when new puppies come in and enjoys giving them plenty of cuddles. She enjoys hunting and fishing and lives on a dairy farm with many cows. Fun fact: Kayleen has lived in Wisconsin her entire life.

Cassie
Cassie

Cassie is currently pursuing her Veterinary Technician degree at Northwood Technical College after studying Animal Science with a Veterinary Technician emphasis at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. She loves interacting with clients, educating pet owners, and exploring the biological side of veterinary medicine.

When she’s not at the clinic, Cassie rides horses and enjoys giving off-the-track Thoroughbreds a new purpose as show or pleasure horses. She has four pets: a Miniature Pinscher puppy named Finlee, a cat named Guppy, and two horses, Queenie and Rip. Fun fact: Cassie is left-handed!

Avah J
Avah

Avah has been a Kennel Assistant for a year and a half. She graduated from Boyceville High School in 2025 and is currently taking veterinary field courses through UW–River Falls.

She loves knowing that even small tasks, like cleaning, feeding, and walking dogs, make a big difference in a pet’s comfort and recovery. Avah enjoys diamond art painting and camping. She has 2 guinea pigs, 3 hedgehogs, and 1 dog. Fun fact: She has toured all over Armenia.

Danielle
Danielle has been a Kennel Assistant for nearly two years and earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. She enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine offers and the chance to see new cases and unique pets each day.

Outside of work, Danielle participates in dog training and sports, enjoys reading and concerts, and is interested in reptiles. She has four pets—a cat, a dog, an axolotl, and a leopard gecko—and has fostered more than 10 animals.
