Our Veterinarians
Dr. Vicki Wilke, DVM, Ph.D., DACVS, CVSMT
Dr. Vicki is a born and raised Wisconsinite. Originally from Shawano, WI, she is a Class of ‘98 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. She then spent a year in Michigan for her internship before her 8 years in Iowa where she underwent the training to become a board-certificated small animal surgeon. Just to keep things interesting, she also completed a concurrent Ph.D. in Genetics. Her focus for her Ph.D. was the genetics of cranial cruciate ligament rupture in the Newfoundland dog. Her passion is the treatment of cruciate disease, and surprisingly not always with surgery. After being a faculty member at Iowa State University, she transferred to the University of Minnesota Small Animal Surgery Department for six years before venturing out into private practice in northwest Wisconsin.
Dr. Vicki has owned the Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic since 2013 and strives regularly to expand her knowledge base to be able to provide additional services for her patients. Her most recent adventure was to become certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT). This is analogous to chiropractic medicine for animals. Prior to that, she received additional training in dog reproduction. Her future goals for the clinic are the addition of rehabilitation services for dogs and cats. The clinic now offers Piezoelectric Shockwave and therapeutic ultrasound and e-stim in addition to its therapeutic laser for the treatment of many surgical and debilitating conditions such as cruciate disease, arthritis, and back pain.
Dr. Tawna Raethke, DVM
Dr. Tawna knew veterinary medicine was her true calling from an early age. She completed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls and continued to obtain her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin- Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2018. Dr. Tawna had practiced mixed animal medicine previously. She enjoys riding her horse, fishing, hunting, and backcountry camping when she is not working.
Dr. Bob Garrison, DVM, MS
Dr. Garrison earned his DVM degree from Iowa State University in 1987 and has worn several hats as a veterinarian, including clinical practice, public health, teaching, research, and military service as a U.S. Air Force officer. He earned a master’s degree in veterinary parasitology from Purdue University in 1996, which fits well with his interests in public health and disease prevention, and it also makes him the “Worm Guy” at GCVC, a title he relishes. Dr. Garrison works hard to be a good listener and a problem solver, giving clients his undivided attention when expressing their concerns, and he enjoys practicing as part of a fun group where everyone brings unique and interesting abilities to the table. In his free time, he loves getting outdoors year-round for kayaking, hiking, and birding, and he also enjoys creative writing, improving his Spanish skills, occasionally giving talks to student groups, and reading a smattering of everything.

Client Care Specialists
Courtney K.
My name is Courtney. I grew up on a hobby farm in Colfax with lots of animals and have always loved them. I received my Certified Medical Assistant degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College, and after working in that field for a while, I came to the vet clinic to combine my medical knowledge with my love for animals. I live with my husband and our springer Spaniels. I really enjoy watching our springers compete in field trials whenever I can!
Tanya P,
I’m a Receptionist here at Glenwood City Vet Clinic. I attended Stillwater High School. I enjoy making sure the pets are happy and healthy. I want them to enjoy their life to the fullest. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family. I enjoy doing anything outside, such as gardening and taking care of our animals. I love horse back riding. We have 3 horses, chickens, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a ferret. We enjoy tubing down the river when its too hot to go riding.
