Pet Diagnostic Care

Timely diagnostic test findings are crucial for assisting your veterinarian in developing the most effective treatment strategy when your pet gets suddenly ill or in the event of an emergency.

Pet Diagnostic Care

The Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic places a high emphasis on using top-notch diagnostic equipment because we recognize that diagnostics are a crucial component of veterinary therapy.

In-House Lab

We are equipped with a full-service in-house laboratory to help us quickly diagnose and treat your animals. Our equipment allows us to screen your pet’s blood, urine, or feces for evidence of organ problems, infections, parasites, and many other problems. We are able to test your pet’s blood for evidence of a number of infections including Feline Leukemia Virus and Lyme Disease, usually in just a matter of minutes!

Digital X-ray

Digital Xrays allow almost instantaneous viewing, as well as minimizing exposure and distress for your pet. Digital Xrays also give us the ability to share your pet’s Xrays for radiographic consultation if needed. Digital Xrays can be used in a variety of ways, including diagnosing broken bones, screening for cancer, or detecting pregnancy.

Ultrasound

Ultrasounds are an essential tool to use for finding issues in the abdomen of your pets. These things include: vomiting or diarrhea that has lasted a long time, weight loss with no change in eating habits, chronic infections, change in urinary habits, baseline ultrasound for future examinations (geriatric patients), recheck on previous problem, cancer staging, fluid in chest or abdomen, pregnancy, pre-surgical or to permit biopsy.
